Solve if u can
4 criminals are caught and are to be punished. The Judge allows them to be freed if they can solve a puzzle. If they do not, they will be hung. They agreed. The 4 criminals are lined up on some steps (shown in picture). They are all facing in the same direction. A wall seperates the fourth man from the other three.
So to summarise :-
Man 1 can see men 2 and 3.
Man 2 can see man 3.
Man 3 can see none of the others.
Man 4 can see none of the others.
The criminals are wearing hats. They are told that there are two white hats and two black hats. The men initally don't know what colour hat they are wearing. They are told to shout out the colour of the hat that they are wearing as soon as they know for certain what colour it is.
They are not allowed to turn round or move.
They are not allowed to talk to each other.
They are not allowed to take their hats off.
Who is the first person to shout out and why?
PS: There is no trick to the question, just logical deduction.

Hey nice mind twister,
But I think it must be 3rd person.
just let me know the answer
I think its the 4th person.

2nd person is right
its so simple yar..
person 2 and 3 cant answer unless other give tell their colours
person 1 sees that 2 and 3 are wearing diff colours.. ( one white and one black).. so he cant say what colour he is wearing..
if 2 and 3 had same colour.. person 1 would have easily know that his color would be differ from 2 and 3.
since person 1 didnt answer.. and person 2 knows that himself and person 3 are wearing diff colours.. and he can directly see that 3 is wearing black.. so he would surely say that he is wearing White...
correct me if am wrong..
It is person 2, because:
He can see the black hat in front of him, and knows that
criminal #1 can see him and the man in front with the black hat.
He knows that if he had a black hat too, that criminal #1 would
know that his hat would then be white, because there are two of each.
So, he now knows that HIS hat must be white!
Person 1 would have shouted WHITE if 2 and 3 wore black
Person 1 would have shouted BLACK if 2 and 3 wore White
Since he has not shouted
Either 2 wears White and 3 Black OR 2 Black and 3 White
2 sees 3 wearing Black
Hence 2 wears White
He shouts WHITE
nice answer adarsh
